Kitchen Transformation

I was not very good about taking "before" pictures basically because I never wanted to remember the kitchen the way it was before anyway. It was the worst room in the house as far as being outdated. We updated the appliances in 2010, but knowing that we hope to have the house on the market soon, we knew it would help show/sell if we had the kitchen looking better. So, we started with paint and then restrained the cabinets a merlot color.

We finally have the granite in, the sink done (LOVE the under mount sink), and we completed the back splash this past weekend. The only thing we have left to do is get our electrician to fix our outlets and new light fixtures, but here is a peek!

Here is a picture that I found that shows the old cabinet stain and the old stove - can't really see the old countertops.
Here you can see the new cabinet stain - the counters are dark (we tried doing them ourselves, but we just didn't like them)

so, here is the granite and the backsplash!

better view of the granite, sink and backsplash

I will post a final when I get the light fixtures and all outlets fixed! So, far we are really pleased! Props to Bo for dealing with my indecisiveness when selecting paint/granite/backsplash as well as doing the backsplash in one night!
